Tom Brady is finding out that retirement isn’t all that bad, as the seven-time Super Bowl winner soaks up the sunshine at a time of year where he’d usually be bracing for a harsh winter.
The NFL icon shared pictures of himself on a boat with his three children – sons Ben and Jack and daughter Vivienne – in blazing sunshine and crystal clear blue water.
They appeared to go snorkeling together and caught lobsters for their dinner. Brady captioned his pictures on X: ‘Caught dinner! (I caught one. The smallest one.)’ followed by a crying with laughter emoji.
He didn’t say where they were but on Instagram, Brady seemed all to aware of how different life usually is for him around Thanksgiving.
‘I did Michigan and Massachusetts winters for a long time. Let me have this,’ he wrote.
Brady retired for good in February, when he was 45, this year after his Tampa Bay Buccaneers team were knocked out of last season’s playoffs.
His final year in the NFL was dented by off-field issues as he and his wife of 13 years, the Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen – the mother of two of his three children – announced their divorce.
It was claimed that Brady’s decision the year before to retire and then backtrack, playing one more year in football, contributed to the decline of their relationship.
Since then, he had a short-lived romance with Irina Shayk but that ended after a few months.
Brady, as referenced on his Instagram comment, play at college level for Michigan before being drafted by the New England Patriots.
Six of his Super Bowl titles were there, before delivering one more to the Bucs in his all-conquering career.
Next season, Brady will begin a 10-year deal as an analyst for FOX Sports. He is taking a year our after retiring to decompress.
