Klein Curacao (small Curacao in Dutch), a flat and windswept island that is a mecca for those who love to swim, snorkel and sunbathe. Klein Curaçao is 24 km from the most southeastern point of Curaçao and only two hours by boat. It is known as a beautiful rewards island and a great place to dive; it also has a dark past.A lot to do on such a small island! This will be the highlight during your stay in Curacao. Underwater Diving

The underwater world of the islands has everything from beautiful coral reefs to streams, huge schools of colorful fish and exciting underwater caves for swimming. For divers of all levels, Klein Curacao is a suitable destination.

If you have your own diving equipment and tanks, you can take it all for free. Please let us know in advance for storage space purposes. If you need to rent diving equipment, you can do it through our reservation site and we will take care of the reservation. Our Dive Center Scuba Do, located on the beach of Jan Thiel, will take care of your medical form and equipment.

Trekking and Hiking

By boat you can reach the dry shore, so feel free to bring your best hiking gear and see some of the places of interest. There is the abandoned lighthouse, a couple of shipwrecks, ruins and tombs. For the most part, the island is flat with very little vegetation for easy walking. Put on a sunscreen as it can gradually get very hot on the island as the day progresses.

Kitesurfing

Sun enthusiasts Klein Curacao is pure nature. The only structures on the island are the old lighthouse, a private beach house and a couple of fishermen’s cabins on the island. The beach is a half-mile stretch of pearly and soft white sand, ideal for sunbathing. We recommend the use of sunscreens with a higher SPF since the sun can get very hot and unforgiving. You may not feel the intensity of the sun’s rays due to the cool sea breeze, but you will feel the result at the end of the day if you do not care for your skin properly. Please tan responsibly.

Snorkeling

Klein Curacao is known for its underwater beauty. You can easily get into the water and dive anywhere on the leeward side of the island. The best place to observe turtles is, facing the coast from the boat, go down the beach to the right. Here you can also swim directly towards the fall, which is quite deep at about thirty feet. Here you can see larger fish and below some hard and soft corals and larger sponges.

There is a more daring place to dive, all the way to the end of the beach, to the left. This place comes with a warning, due to the fairly strong currents that come around the tip of the island, creating an opposite current, which takes you towards the tip of Klein Curacao. It is one of the best places for snorkeling with excellent depths and visibility for a diver, many colorful fish, a good variety of hard and soft corals and a fall, but once again, be very careful if you dive here not to be dragged and come back Before you’re tired
