A 41-year-old Texas visitor died after he ran into trouble while snorkeling in waters off Kahe Point Beach Park in Leeward Oahu Tuesday.

The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office has identified him as Quan Do.

He was snorkeling in waters off the beach park — also known as Electric Beach — when he became distressed sometime before 3 p.m., police said.

Do’s wife brought him to shore where he collapsed and became unresponsive.

Emergency Medical Services personnel administered life-saving treatment and took him in critical condition to Queen’s Medical Center-West Oahu where he died.
