Bonaire is known for its year-round warm weather and outdoor activities such as snorkeling. Scuba Divers aren’t the only ones that can experience the beautiful reefs on Bonaire. Snorkelers can enjoy the diverse coral and marine life thanks to the reef’s proximity to the shore. Of course, snorkeling with a private guide has many perks, such as door-to-door service, pointing out specific marine life, and taking photos. Private Guided Tours Bonaire offers snorkel tours with a personal touch.

Snorkeling on Bonaire.
Snorkeling on Bonaire is magnificent and relaxing. Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to snorkel with Kirsten, the owner and guide of Private Guided Tours Bonaire. She appreciates the ocean and loves sharing her passion and knowledge with others. She also has a very calming personality. If you are a little nervous about snorkeling, Kirsten will talk you through everything step by step.
Before the snorkel tour, she checked to see if any rental gear was needed or if I needed assistance. Once we had a plan, she arrived at my home to pick me up, along with her daughter, Famke, and her daughter’s boyfriend, Rolando. Since I knew Kirsten’s family was visiting on vacation ahead of time, I asked them to join us since it was their last day on Bonaire.
As we drove south to an unnamed site, we chatted and eagerly looked forward to getting into the warm Caribbean sea. Once we arrived, we surveyed the area for the best entry and grabbed our snorkel gear. At the water’s edge, Kirsten went over a few hand signals so we could communicate without taking our heads out of the water. She also made sure everyone was comfortable with the plan. As we entered the crystal clear water, we immediately felt a calmness wash over us. For the four of us, the ocean is our happy place.
With Kirsten in the lead, we followed her in the shallows as she pointed out specific fish. Kirsten also takes underwater photos of the private groups, not only of the people but also of the beautiful marine life and coral. With a weight belt, she free-dives down to get the best photos and to point out anything of interest.
