The police in Dominica have confirmed that a 73-year-old American visitor died after he had gone snorkeling with his wife and others at Champagne beach in Pointe Michel, a small town on the island’s southwest coast.

He was rushed to the Accident and Emergency Department at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

The authorities said that Howard Taylor who was visiting the island as a cruise ship passenger, was snorkeling with his wife and others, when his body was found floating in the sea.

The police said that an investigation has since been launched into the tragedy that occurred over the weekend.
