Tenkiller State Park is known as the “heaven in the hills” and boasts some of the clearest lake water in the state. It’s a gorgeous place to visit and is filled with outdoor recreation. But, it also is home to Dive Park, a little-known scuba diving adventure. It was established in 2005 and is now home to a variety of sunken vessels, treasures, a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter, and more. It’s quite a spectacular place you wouldn’t expect to find in Oklahoma.
Nestled in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, Lake Tenkiller, also known as Tenkiller Ferry Lake, is a gigantic, crystal-clear natural lake located in east-central Oklahoma. The lake boasts more than 13,000 acres of water and an incredible 130 miles of shoreline.
The lake is home to Dive Park, the ultimate spot for a scuba diving adventure. Pictured here is a map of some of the main points of attractions under the water.
The park is run by Nautical Adventures Scuba, a full-service dive equipment and repair shop that also offers education and certification for diving. They also have an indoor heated pool where you can receive an easy introduction to scuba diving.
Dive Park is the main attraction for scuba divers at Lake Tenkiller as it provides a dedicated space filled with sunken vessels for divers to explore.
Divers can explore things like a basketball hoop, car, bus, helicopter, plane, treasure chests, and more.
Nautical Adventures is open for scuba diving from April to October. You can rent or buy gear from them and they also offer cabins for overnight rentals.
The cabins are located about one mile from the lake and boast a cozy, cottage-style vibe perfect for vacationing with the family. They come with a queen-sized bed in the bedroom, a full bathroom, linens, and a twin sleeper sofa in the living room.

Another fun adventure at Lake Tenkiller is Goat Island. It’s an island inhabited solely by goats that people can visit by boat or kayak.
