VANCOUVER, Wash. – Legacy Medical Group confirmed Monday that one of its doctors recently died in a scuba diving accident in Mexico.

According to Legacy Medical Group, Dr. Tom Dyehouse and his son, Graeme, died while scuba diving.

Dyehouse was the medical director for Legacy Medical Group Family Wellness. He had worked with the clinic for more than 16 years before it recently became a part of Legacy Medical Group.

“We know he was beloved by patients, peers, and staff, so this loss will be deeply felt. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dr. Dyehouse’s family and friends,” Legacy Medical Group said in a statement.

Jennifer Wood, one of Dyehouse’s patients, express her grief outside his office Monday.

“He delivered my daughter. He also gave me the results that I was pregnant with her,” she said. “I was just really saddened to hear the news. I know there are a lot of people in the community who are really said to hear the news.”

The clinic is working on a transition plan to provide care for all patients.
