Castaway Cay has officially reopened after a year-long closure due to the ongoing pandemic. Once Disney Cruise Line resumed sailings this past summer, Guests and cruisers of all ages have been excited to once again set sail and visit Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.

One of the fan-favorite amenities at Castaway Cay is the snorkeling adventure, where Guests can rent snorkel gear and “explore the calm, crystal-clear waters of Castaway Cay”. Well, on a recent trip to Castaway Cay, Guests noticed some unfamiliar hidden treasures within the waters of Castaway Cay.

The snorkeling path at Castaway Cay is filled with all kinds of sunken treasures, including a shipwreck! But on a recent voyage, Guests noticed some additions to the waters, including some “mildly creepy relics”. Zach took to Twitter to share some photos of the sunken treasures, along with the caption:

Some of the items in the Tweet include Boo’s door from Monsters, Inc., a Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction vehicle, Prince Eric’s status from The Little Mermaid, and more. Though the Nautilus and Prince Eric’s statue have been there for years, the Dumbo attraction vehicle and Boo’s door are new.

Zach also noted that there are a ton of other character statues within the waters of Castaway Cay, making for some fun discoveries.

If you have never booked the snorkeling adventure at Castaway Cay, Disney Cruise Line describes it as:

Enjoy all-day access to a beautiful lagoon brimming with exotic sea life and sunken treasures waiting to be discovered.

On this adventure you will…

  • Head to Gil’s Fins and Boats or Flippers and Floats and receive your snorkel gear and instruction.
  • Make a splash amid tropical fish and Caribbean marine life at the island’s 22-acre snorkeling lagoon, located at Castaway Cay’s Family Beach. Explore snorkeling trails for beginners and discoverers, and be sure to keep your eyes peeled for hidden underwater surprises as you snorkel further out into the lagoon.
  • Enter and exit the lagoon as much as you like before returning your equipment to Gil’s Fins and Boats or Flippers and Floats at the end of the day.
